Appearance:

Tauari woods  moderately heavy and soft to cut; core and alburnum undifferentiated in respect to color, straw-white, lightly pinkish; medium texture, right grain; surface lightly shined and smooth to the touch; smell and taste unnoticeable.

Properties:

Tauari wood demonstrated low resistance to the attack of xylophages organisms. When submitted to impregnation under pressure, demonstrated that it is quite permeable to preserving solutions.

Janka Hardness:  1650

As a flooring option, Tauari is a hard and durable wood

Workability:

Tauari is easy to work. This species has good nailing properties. Glue holds well with Tauari ( Brazilian Oak )  flooring.  Although it requires a decent amount of filling at times Tauari ( Brazilian Oak ) sands to a beautifully lusterous polish.

Uses:

Tauari ( Brazilian oak ) wood, because it presents medium mechanical properties, being easy to saw and presenting good output in the unfolding, can be indicated in the obtainment of unfolded sheets, packaging, curved pieces, particle sheets, structural plywood, common use furniture, ceilings and panels, floorboards, broomsticks, etc.
